Jazz

It all begins with an idea.

“If you didn’t know better, you’d swear that Jody Ebling sang with Harry James or the Dorsey Brothers. She’s got that distinctive Swing Era elegance: the satin-smooth voice and the spunk of a Rosemary Clooney.” ~ Beverly Creasey, Theater Mirror

Jody Ebling has always loved singing the music of The Great American Popular Songbook. You can feel her love for the lyrics in her recordings and performances.

She has a vast repertoire, one that includes charts for up to a 12-piece band.

Jody has toured with the Cab Calloway big band led by Calloway Brooks. She was the featured vocalist at the Festival Lyric on Belle Ille in France and the featured soloist with the White Heat Swing Orchestra in the Boston Harbor Hotel guest artist series. And she has sung with virtuoso jazz violinist Aaron Weinstein.

Whatever Time There Is is a jazz CD recorded by Jody Ebling on the Victory label. Instrumentalists include Paul Schmeling on piano, Marshall Wood on bass, Jim Gwin on drums, Arnie Krakowsky on alto sax and Dave Burdett on trumpet.

“This compilation will take you back to the 40s, to the heyday of cabaret. Jody Ebling is the quintessential film noir chanteuse. Her sultry, sophisticated voice can sound playful as in Lucky To Be Me or plaintive as in Ill Wind. This CD will whisk you away to a small cafe in the wee hours of the morning no matter what time you are listening.” ~ Beverly Creasey, Theater Mirror
